Equity, Belonging + Community Team Initiative

At Global Gateway Advisors, we are committed to building and fostering an inclusive, equitable and diverse team that reflects the diversity of the communities where we live and work. 

We aim to ensure our colleagues can bring their truest and most authentic selves to work every day by providing a space where employees can share, learn and grow.

In 2020, we created an Equity, Belonging + Community (EBC) team inside GGA to advocate and take action on our core values for our internal team, clients and communities. EBC creates initiatives, activities and programming that engage and empower our team.

We are intentional about our programming and dedicated to discovering new opportunities to turn our allyship into action. Highlights from our 2022 programs include:

  • AANHPI Heritage Month: We participated in a virtual bystander intervention training workshop on addressing Anti-AANHPI and xenophobic harassment held by Asian Americans Advancing Justice – LA and Right To Be, and provided each team member $100 to support an AANHPI-owned business or organization of their choice.
  • Women’s History Month: We held a Women in PR panel discussion that highlighted the experiences of women in our workplace and the roles we play in fostering an inclusive workplace culture for women. Team members were each given $100 to support female-owned businesses and organizations of their choice.
  • Hispanic Heritage Month: We took part in a team virtual exhibition tour of ‘Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving’ and held a trivia happy hour spotlighting the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens who came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. Team members were each given $100 to patron Hispanic-owned businesses or organizations of their choice.
  • Pride Month: We gathered for a group discussion of a New York Times opinion essay by Charles Blow, curated a playlist with songs from our favorite LGBTQIA+ artists and gave each team member $100 to support an LGBTQIA+ owned business or organization of their choice.

We are excited to continue to grow and expand our EBC’s team membership, impact and reach in the future.
