Giving Tuesday Trivia Night Raises $20K
At Global Gateway Advisors, we are passionate about supporting the communities in which we live and work. We strongly believe in creating a culture of citizenship and are always looking for ways to take part in initiatives that improve the wellbeing of others – the more people who are better off, the better off we all are.
In 2020, we started a new tradition: Giving Tuesday Trivia Challenge. Giving Tuesday is a global movement that encourages people to donate their time and money to charitable causes. Held on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the U.S., our first virtual trivia night fundraiser was the perfect opportunity to raise money and awareness for some incredible organizations while staying safe and socially distanced amid the pandemic.
We invited our clients to form trivia teams of 4-6, pledge $250 as an “entry fee” to a cause of their choice, and compete to win larger cash prize donations from GGA to their chosen nonprofits. The virtual tournament included multiple trivia rounds, each with a different prize amount.
We had a lot of fun, raised a lot of money and decided to continue the tradition each year. The rest is history. Together with our clients, we’ve donated more than $20,000 in 2022 for a variety of meaningful nonprofits, including the Atlantis Blue Project Foundation, the IIE Student Emergency Fund and the AFS International Global Impact Fund.
